They have some beautiful stock available for you!

The Horti House mission is to transform houseplant wholesale in the UK, delivering quality plants fast. Focusing on British and Peat Free, and removing the complications and costs involved with importing plants.

They have 5 British growers now under the Horti House umbrella and aim to bring on more each quarter – they don’t only sell British but its what they are most passionate about!

Lambs Flowers was established nearly 40 years ago in Pinchbeck, near Spalding. What originally began as a 4.5 acre field is now an 11 hectare site growing over 25 million stems of flowers each year – all under glass.

They are expert British Flower Growers based in the heart of the Lincolnshire Fens, specialising in growing and sourcing locally grown flowers.

Flowers from the Farm is the award-winning membership association championing artisan growers of seasonal, scented, locally grown cut flowers. Their network stretches across the whole of the UK and puts you in touch with flowers on your doorstep.

Flowers by Clowance, based in Cornwall is a Cornish and British Flower and Foliage Wholesaler. Owner James Cock studied Commercial Horticulture for 3 years at Pershore College of Horticulture. They are a Hub for Cornish Growers and the Best British Flower and Foliage growers in the UK.

Smith & Munson have been growing British flowers for 5 generations mainly for florists. They are currently celebrating their 75th Anniversary. New customers can sign up for a wholesale account (no obligation to buy) and will receive an e-brochure link for their tulip season, giving details and flowering dates for all tulips. Pre orders are available for major dates such as Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.

Why buy British grown flowers?

A huge proportion of flowers bought by consumers in the UK are imported from as far afield as Ecuador, Colombia, Ethiopia and Kenya, whether they’re purchased in florist shops, supermarkets or at the local market.

At Interflora, we’re on a mission to try and increase the volume of home-grown stems used in floristry today, in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the beautiful bouquets and arrangements our florists are creating, and to support our local business communities.

Buying Local

By supporting your local flower grower, you’re also supporting your local ecology and economy. Freshly picked and interesting stems,

British grown flowers are also frequently scented as they don’t need to undergo the rigours of international travel.

They also reflect our seasons beautifully, giving some real points of difference to many of the standard, uniform stems we import. By supporting British floriculture, we’re also helping to attract pollinators and other wildlife to our countryside, and support biodiversity in Britain.

Reduce flower miles

British grown flowers travel a fraction of the miles covered by their imported cousins.

Consumers know of ‘Dutch flowers’ but while The Netherlands grows a huge volume of flower crops, its flower auctions are also a relay for stems grown across Europe as well as for those air-freighted thousands of miles from South America, Africa and Asia.

Approximately 86% of the UK cut flower market is currently made up of imports. Wouldn’t it be beautiful to increase the proportion of British grown stems we use?

Where to buy?

We’re talking with British growers all the time. The purpose of this page is to signpost you either to local growers in your area,

or to growers that pack and deliver mixed boxes of British grown stock. We’ll be adding more growers to this page over time, but for now let us introduce you to Lambs Flowers, Flowers from the Farm, Flowers by Clowance and Smith & Munson – click on the logos above to find out more!
